[/caption]It is another warm and sunny morning in Central Florida. After a relaxed start to the day, we leave Titusville astern and resume our journey south along the Indian River. The first bridge opening of the day is the NASA Causeway Bridge, which we transited ashore yesterday during our tour of the Space Center. Off in the distance is the Vehicle Assembly Building, larger than life.
Early in the afternoon, Cocoa Beach appears on the eastern horizon. The small town of Cocoa Village is a popular destination for cruisers. We count over thirty cruising boats at anchor in the harbor, clearly visible from the ICW. We elect to continue on in order to position Cutter Loose to reach Vero Beach tomorrow.
Our anchorage for tonight is just northeast of the Palm Shores Bridge. The intensity of development increases as we travel south. This translates to fewer suitable anchorages where we can spend the night on the hook. In certain circumstances, there is sufficient depth off to the side of the ICW to anchor near bridges. Such is the case today. There is very little current in our anchorage and the wind is light. Cutter Loose is sharing this anchorage with two other Island Packets, including Island Spirit and Catspaw. Dinner this evening is aboard Island Spirit.
